Jorginho gives Arsenal that extra something

Image
Jorginho PIC: Arsenal.com   “We had a chat at half-time and went back to doing the basics. We changed the game. " Those were our newly minted not-so-hand-me-down Brazilian Jorginho's words after Arsenal's dramatic comeback against Aston Villa. Brought in on deadline day this January, the Brazilian was never a first choice for many Gooners. "Another Chelsea player?" many said. We've had a few of those and it was getting a bit long in the teeth. That 'chat at half-time' is something in which the super-winning Brazilian would have been critical. And that could prove the difference come May. Jorginho had 91 touches, completed 71 of his 80 passes and created two chances, winning five duels as well as three tackles. It was a midfield well-marshalled by a player many considered a non-fit for Arsenal. He is commanding, vocal and not afraid to call out players when they are not up to standard. He is an engine. Don't get us wrong. He is just that. A substit

Rwanda president Kagame demands winning mentality from Arsenal

Image
Rwanda's president Paul Kagame has made an infrequent use of his Twitter account to express his dismay at hs beloved Arsenal after their loss to newly-promoted Brentford on the opening day of the 2021/22 Premier League season. He said: What?? It's football,it's a loss of Arsenal at/to Brentford. Brentford deserved to win and they did. The game itself aside Arsenal and the fans don't deserve to kind of get used to this....NO !!! I say this as one of the big fans of Arsenal. The change has taken to long to come! It's been a struggle of about decade(s) -ups&downs-more downs until this point. Can't we have a plan that really works?? One part to look at is how we deal in the market- players we buy to execute the plan. The touch&go mentality does not bring change. We just must NOT excuse or Accept mediocrity. A team has to be built with purpose to win win win. So that when we lose....it was not to be expected! I am sure we all know on whose shoulders the heav

Bukayo Saka's performance in Germany is good for Nelson and Co

Image
So we had not written in a while so yeah we are going to try and make this a regular thing, for control. Bukayo Saka is the name on every Arsenal fan's lips at the moment after he was easily man of the match in our 3-0 win at Eintracht Frankfurt. The 18 year old scored one (a sexy one at that) and created two as we got our Europa League excursions to a great start. He started in a front three with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at the top. Emile Smith Rowe, and Willock were the other academy kids in the team. Well Emiliano Martinez came through as a youth player from Independiente but he is 27 now. So the talk has been that Saka and how he is the best left wing since Adam's apples were discovered and claimed by a preacher we call papa for posterity. This is more so in the absence of Alexander Lacazette. Riess Nelson got a chance on the weekend to impress in that horror show against Watford and he was tentative at best. So the call is made for us to dig deep into Saka

Even Wenger has to know he is no longer good enough

Image
A certain Sir Alex Ferguson described a performance by Barcelona as mesmerising in the final of the UEFA Champions League in 2011.  The final scoreline was deceptive, such was the dominance of Pep Guardiola's team on that night in Wembley.  There was fighting talk after the match when asked about his enthusiasm was still there. A year later he retired from the game and left a side that could not really compete until a huge overhaul was completed.  Manchester City did not have to be brilliant to defeat Arsenal in the final of the Carabao Cup. Arsenal looked out of depth and pretty much like a side sixth in the league on the back of a loss to a team they had never heard of until this season. Arsene Wenger is a stubborn man, much like an old school politician. The moment he should have left the stage has repeatedly left him and for some reason he still believes he should be competing with the rank of Guardiola, Jurgen Klopp, Ernesto Vilvade and Jose Mourinho. That those ma

Bloody hell! Mesut Ozil's signed a new deal - report

Image
BBC Sport journalist David Ornstein has a habit of getting things right and he reckons Mesut Ozil has a signed a new three and a half year deal which will see him serve the club till 2021 when he is all of 32 years old. Following on the heels of our getting Gabonese 2,289,455776 goal striker Pierre Emerick Aubameyang to come and hang out with Henrikh Mkhitaryan for a few years and win us a few things, this is a strong power move from the Arsenal lot who have been accused of not fancying the whole keeping top players thing and kinda buying the sh!t ones in exchange. It now feels like 15 billion years ago since $anchez offed to the Mancs and Feo signed da ting with other people and not us. EXCLUSIVE: Mesut Ozil signs a new three-and-a-half year contract to remain at Arsenal until summer 2021. Becomes highest-paid player in club history on around £350k per week before tax. Deal agreed last weekend, signed at Colney this morning. Could take him to 8yrs at #AFC & 32yo pic.twitt

Pierre Emerick Aubameyang is a gunner

Image
Super forward Pierre Emerick Aubameyang is an Arsenal player. In a show that the new backroom staff is no longer business as usual, Arsenal shelled a cool reported 55.4 million of them pounds to bring the goal machine to the Emirates. Both Arsenal and Borrusia have confirmed the news. With Henrikh Mkhitaryan coming in the other day Arsenal have made two high profile signings to replace the departed Alexi$ $anchez. Mind you I can't be mad at Sancho because he could have sat tight till the end of the season and we would have gotten nothing for him. Still don't care for him. And with the news that Mesut Ozil looks to be keen on a deal now because of our January business am amped. Just sign Jack as well. Meanwhile check out the bromance video Arsenal put out of Mkhi welcoming Pierre below #YoPierre 😉 pic.twitter.com/VKlUZdOqv1 — Arsenal FC (@Arsenal) January 31, 2018

Someone needs to grow some balls at Arsenal... cause #WengerOut

There are no words in the world to express the ridiculous situation Arsenal find themselves in right now. They are 23 points off the top and 19 points of relegation.  In their match against Bournemouth they looked completely bereft of confidence, playing more like a team trying to survive relegation than one of the one of the top 10 most powerful clubs in the world and if you go by Soccerex's most recent list number 2. It got so terrible that at some point their GBP50 million striker had to drop deep into midfield with supply pretty much hen's teeth for a striker who bagged 37 in 45 matches last season. With Alexis Sanchez on his bike out of the club with his dogs and the Mesut Ozil situation about as up in the air as they can get, Arsenal are as weird as they come at the minute. They are predictable, lacking inspiration, lethargic, slow, ponderous and to be honest perfectly ludicrous.  It's a shambles. The manager is clueless. That is not h

Coq's gone, Theo should be next and Draxler hangs out with Arsenal players

Francis Coquelin has officially joined Valencia. The Frenchman said he should have joined the La Liga side when he had the chance to move in the northern Summer but he felt he could give another go at being Arsenal. A player I liked to be honest and it is sad to see him go. While I am not sure we will miss him given the way the current manager has chosen to play, he was good and even great at times, coming in at a time when Arsene Wenger's continued pretense that he could play without central midfielders who could defend was looking really silly. The only issue for Arsenal of course is how prone the team is to injury and with Aaron Ramsey out   Ramsey though back in the squad and it looks Jack Wilshere may be crocked too, the bench will look a bit silly. As that Forest disaster showed Joe Willock is not the answer, yet. Talented as he may be. One experiment we need to stop messing with is Theo Walcott as well. He has been at the club for the longest but you just fee
