Bukayo Saka's performance in Germany is good for Nelson and Co


So we had not written in a while so yeah we are going to try and make this a regular thing, for control.

Bukayo Saka is the name on every Arsenal fan's lips at the moment after he was easily man of the match in our 3-0 win at Eintracht Frankfurt.

The 18 year old scored one (a sexy one at that) and created two as we got our Europa League excursions to a great start.

He started in a front three with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at the top. Emile Smith Rowe, and Willock were the other academy kids in the team. Well Emiliano Martinez came through as a youth player from Independiente but he is 27 now.

So the talk has been that Saka and how he is the best left wing since Adam's apples were discovered and claimed by a preacher we call papa for posterity. This is more so in the absence of Alexander Lacazette.

Riess Nelson got a chance on the weekend to impress in that horror show against Watford and he was tentative at best.

So the call is made for us to dig deep into Saka who has us all excited but this is inspiration for the other lot. Saka came in and impressed on his debut this season by being fearless and willing to take responsibility for the destiny of the game. It has not been since Cesc Fabregas around the same age that we had an 18 year-old who wanted to be the main man.

And that is what the rest of the kids who have been groomed by a former main man in Freddie Ljungberg have to learn. The fact that you now play for Arsenal means you are not an understudy. When you get picked, you are not a kid. You are in there to do a first team and job and you need to take the game by the scruff of the neck.

Last season at times especially with some of our former players, you saw people hide in matches. Having a bit of Guendouzi and Saka attitude from young players can only bode well for the club going forward.

It is Aston Villa this weekend and we face our Zimbabwean lad Marvelous Nakamba. It is one of two matches this season we will not wish him well.

Maybe Arsenal need to practice shooting

I dont think there is a team that creates as many chances as Arsenal in the Premiership. So much so I think if we got one player who had the slightest interest in scoring we would be sending many teams down. But alas we create the chances and we are left wondering about what cvould have been. Arsene blames it on naivety but in all fairness Arsenal have been guilty of the self same thing for a while now. Sometimes you just need to score said Thierry Henry. So why dont you just score mate? Entertainment is all very well but being so far behind the chavs and the mancs is isnt fun either. I know they will get it but hopefully we wont be too far behind to make a difference. On yesterday's peformances two players did particularly well for me. Hleb and Flamini. Flamini worked in that role tirelessly in the middle and Hleb is becoming a real threat almost everytime we play. Now you simply cant leave him out... Congratulations fto Robinson on the England win... Canct wauit for the Ashes..

What we all really knew

Thierry Henry has pledged his future to Arsenal. I said in a recent post that it all came down to whether he believed that he was the right man to lead the team into the next version of Arsenal. And he proved me right by making to very important points, that he wantede to lead the team into the new stadium and more importantly was staying to build the team into one of the strongest in Europe. Obviously he heard something he liked from the gaffer otherwise he wouldnt have bothered. And most importantly he sees something in these kids and the tone of his post-match conferences and media releases seem to show he has confidence in the lads and that he believes they wull grow up very quickly. He should be live they will be ready soon otherwise at his age he might have felt he would run out of time before they were ripe.
