Coq's gone, Theo should be next and Draxler hangs out with Arsenal players
Francis Coquelin has officially joined Valencia.
The Frenchman said he should have joined the La Liga side when he had the chance to move in the northern Summer but he felt he could give another go at being Arsenal.
A player I liked to be honest and it is sad to see him go. While I am not sure we will miss him given the way the current manager has chosen to play, he was good and even great at times, coming in at a time when Arsene Wenger's continued pretense that he could play without central midfielders who could defend was looking really silly.
The only issue for Arsenal of course is how prone the team is to injury andwith Aaron Ramsey out Ramsey though back in the squad and it looks Jack Wilshere may be crocked too, the bench will look a bit silly. As that Forest disaster showed Joe Willock is not the answer, yet. Talented as he may be.
One experiment we need to stop messing with is Theo Walcott as well. He has been at the club for the longest but you just feel he is never going to be that player for Arsenal.
Many were offended when Chris Waddle famously said he has no football brain but they will have to eat humble pie. Yes he had 19 goals in 45 matches last season but it is just difficult to see what he offers the team at the minute.
Wenger's got some crush on him or maybe it is the obsession with the fact that he might pan out. Who knows?
But at the moment he is about as relevant to the team as Prof Jonathan Moyo's statements about Zimbabwe on BBC HARDtalk on Thursday.
And then finally, was very impressed by Arsenal at Chelsea on Wednesday. Tactical discipline, defensive solidity, the works. It is the sort of thing you wish Arsenal would do more consistently. They gobbled most things up, allowed Eden Hazard no room to turn and do as he pleased.
Shkodran Mustafi with Rob Holding and Calum Chambers either side of him looked like the general we always imagined him to be. The hope is that it is not a flash in the pan.
The thing I am a bit concerned (not worried about) is what we are getting out of Alexandre lacazette or what kind of striker he should be. He showed early days that he was a proper striker and the kind we need but something is missing.
Finally, PSG midfielder, the dream player Arsenal fans are crying for and hope that we will sign, Julian Draxler was seen hanging out at the NBA game in London on Thursday night.with Arsenal stars, Mustafi, Hector Bellerin andSead Kolasinac. Maybe they're secret agents or one of them is teh friend and it is the that equivalent of that weird date when you invite a girl over and she brings her crew.
We hope he crosses over, seriously.
