Sick Of Hoping Arsenal Wins Something
Someone just told me the other day that it is easier to be a Liverpool fan. They have kind of resigned themselves to the fact that they really aren't going to win matches regularly and the league is a pipe dream.
You see, if Arsenal were just pretty shit all the time then it would feel better. You know that you aren't going to win anything so you make sure you stack up the pints while eyeing the lovely waitress serving because she is the one you will be fantasising about when you are doing it with the missus later.
But no. Arsenal actually play some really good football and they make you believe that the world is not such a bad place after all. That beauty can come from the most ugly places and stare at you in the eye. Only thing is that in this instance there is a pong that is coming. It is like you eyeing that girl in the kombi (public transport) ride home and she sits next to you. She is hot. She smiles at you. Then the hwindi's(tout's) armpit is in your face.
The fact of the matter is Arsene Wenger would probably get a lot more things right if Arsenal as an institution knew what it was doing. Tomorrow we take on QPR and chances are that I am going to sit in some pub in Harare and good ol' Santi Cazorla will smack that team like a thief in Mbare or I am going to have drown my sorrows with a night that will turn into a blur.
Whatever it is, Arsenal has to decide now. They really have to stop flirting with us, thinking the night is going to turn into some sort of debauchery only to disappear with a friend and leave us with a bill.
